Aside from acting, and cinematography, music contributes to the emotions felt by those who's watching the movie. Drama films with slow sad piano in the background would make you feel sad too. Just like in the movie Never Let Me Go, the storyline is sad and kids who are forced to donate their organs at a young age. The music and the plot made me carried away with great acting. watching a scary movie can make you scream or jump because of sound effects and music. Music contribute to the mood and feeling in the movie.
Danny Elfman- A famous American composer whose works include the music behind The Nightmare Before Christmas, Beetlejuice, Big Fish, charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Mars Attack and a lot more. He also wrote some music television score like The Simpsons and Desperate Housewives. His music is enchanting, magical and eery. I'm just totally drawn.
Hans Zimmer- A German composer and music producer famous for his works in The Lion King, Gladiator, The Dark Knight Inception, Pirates of the Carribean. The Lion King has won as Best Musical Album for Children in 1995. I describe Hans Zimmer's music as earthly, sometimes sad, but powerful.
John Williams- Fans of Star Wars, who wouldn't forget the ever popular musical score of the movies. John Williams wrote them. He also done a good job with in Jaws and Memoirs of a Geisha. I've loved the musical score from E.T. It's like he's taking me home from my planet. His music is great for adventure movies.
James Newton Howard- An American composer known for his credits in The Dark Knight, and Diamond. He's also contributed musical scores in The Last Airbender and The Village. In I am Legend, his music would just touch your heart and feel the emptiness of the location.
Howard Shore- A Canadian music composer of films such as The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Hugo and The Departed. The main theme of The Lord of the Rings is simply beautiful and it's full of emotions. And once the flute played, it gave me goosebumps. Makes me want to watch them again.
There are other good film music composers that avid movie buffs can check out like The Pink Panther theme by Henry Mancini, 007 theme by John Barry, Mission Impossible theme by Lalo Schifrin, Titanic theme by James Horner which is a sad, sad musical score.
